i've watched NANA again! (for the hundredth time) and i can't seem to get the song winter sleep out of my head (im singing it in my sleep, at work, at the bus ~everywhere!!!) i first watched the anime late last year and i hated+loved it.  

Here's a lil' synopsis for non-Nana peeps: Nana Osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band Black Stones (BLAST for short). Nana was the lead vocalist in their old band with her boyfriend, Ren, and they lived together as lovers since she was 16. When Ren was offered a chance to debut in Tokyo as a replacement member of the popular band Trapnest (Toranesu in Japanese), Nana chose to cultivate her own band after Ren left her and Black Stones for Trapnest. Having too much pride to simply follow Ren to Tokyo and happily be a rockstar's girlfriend, she stayed behind. She leaves for Tokyo at the age of twenty, and to start her musical career. Nana Komatsu, the other Nana, is called with the nickname Hachi (after Hachikō) as she has weak mental characteristics that resemble a puppy. With a habit of falling in love at first sight all the time, Hachi has always depended on other people to help her. When her friends and then boyfriend leave for Tokyo, she decides to join them a year later after having saved enough money at the age of twenty. Nana and Hachi meet in a train by chance, both on their way to Tokyo. After a string of coincidences, they come to live together in an apartment numbered 707. Despite having contrasting characters and ideals, the Nanas like and respect each other. While the Black Stones begin to gain popularity at live gigs, other issues need resolving, especially in the areas of romance. The story of Nana revolves heavily on the romance and relationships of the two characters as one seeks fame and recognition while the other seeks love and happiness.

Written and illustrated by Ai Yazawa (she also made PARADISE KISS) adapted into Anime and Live Action, the latest is at Volume 23 (In June 2009, the series was put on hiatus as Yazawa became ill and unable to work. It is unknown when it will return, but the hiatus is expected to last several months.)

I finally got to reading the manga early this year and it made me so very sad...how could Ren die? 

i remember watching it with my friends and how we fell in love with Yasu, hated Takumi, envied Reira, loved Shin ~kyaaa! kyaaa! kyaaa!~ and swooned over Nana+Ren. 

 

Yep, most of the characters here smoke (except for Reira & Hachiko) so when i was watching this with a friend who was trying to quit, she got so frustrated!!!

so why do i keep watching it? well it's like re-reading Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, each time i watch it, depending on my mood and life's situation, the scenarios though familiar changes my perspective in life (that doesn't seem to make sense but i feel for the characters) :D

 A few weeks ago, my friend Aoi, recommended a couple of Shoujo Manga for me to read, here is one, though it is still ongoing ~KYAAA!!!~  i loved it and i can't wait for the rest!!! Uru is a very short girl and is constantly mistaken for an elementary school kid, but despite that, she is ridiculously strong and decides to live by herself after her mother gets remarried. She ends up working at a small cafe with two rather unique co-workers, Shindou, who acts gruff and intimidating, but who is really a nice guy who loves to make cakes and pies and the like, and Ichirou, who is really good-looking but who instantly falls asleep when he gets hungry and doesn't wake up again until he's force-fed something.

i just love this manga, i hope they will make it into an anime soon. the story revolves around orphans, Fumino Kaji and her little brother Teppei. They have lived with relatives since their parents died in a car accident. Tired of moving from a relative's house to another, Fumino decides to run away and work to support her brother on her own. but as they sit on a park bench, her English teacher, Kazuma Ojiro appears in front of her and her brother. He tries to convince her to go back to school. She jokingly (angrily more like it) asks him to marry her in order to support her and Teppei, and he agrees, and the weird relationship happens. They get married (secretly, of course) and have a platonic married relationship (though in the long run Fumino falls in love with Kazuma). They kept it a secret and the only one who know is Kazuma's friend and neighbor Ryu Shindo (also a Teppei's kindergarten teacher and he helps Fumino hoe to dress sexy for Kazuma). I so love Teppei's costumes (Kazuma requires both Fumino and Teppei to Cosplay each night and in return he cooks them dinner because Fumino's cooking are all not edible) XD

i was watching the latest bleach episode 232 the zanpakuto gaiden *sigh! another filler arc* when i remembered a few weeks back while i was reading the Turn Back the Pendulum Gaiden manga, that i had some way-out-of-this-world-theories regarding Isshin Kurosaki, Ichigo's dad and my friend Teen just laughed and said that was way too weird even for me and she could not possibly imagine them happening.


know facts about ISSHIN KUROSAKI

• husband to Masaki, father to Ichigo, Karin and Yuzu.
  
• doctor and has his own clinic.
• initially portrayed as a silly, fight-loving father, often showing comical affection especially to the twins, which results in Karin often kicking him and Yuzu believing every unbelievable things he says.
• later in the series he reveals himself as a former captain-level Shinigami, finally regaining his powers after twenty years, shocking Kon and finally avenging his wife's killer the Grand Fisher (hollow).
• his real identity is known to Ryuken Ishida (a fellow doctor and Quincy, father of Uryu) and Uruhara Kisuke (who was the one who created his gigai)
• he knows the vizards (but when he released his reiatsu, Shinji didn't recognized it) and the vizards were captain and vice-captains 100 years ago at Soul Society.
